I bought a copy of "Spree in Paree" a year or two ago for my children's book collection and later bought
one for my granddaughter who will be visiting Paris herself soon. I bought this book on the strength of
the last one and I like it fine. But it is not quite as well written. The book does not take you from
one place to the next very smoothly. A couple of times, I searched for a missing page. Nevertheless,
it is a fun book, a funny book, a book with lovely illustrations, and you do learn a bit about New York.
I do have to warn that when I put Porc in New York in the search column to find this book, I was asked if I really meant Porn in New York? I don't know what happens if you say yes to that question. You might want to find out before you have your kids do a word search.

We first ran across Catherine Stock's "A Spree in Paree" when we were in search of picture books before traveling to Paris. Spree in Paree was perfect. Farmer Monmouton and his animals venture from the country into Paris for a day. Watercolors are amazing. Story reminds me of Doreen Cronin's Click Clack Moo, but I like it even better.
When Porc in New York came out, we were thrilled. It continues the storyline. It also gives us a book by which to remember NYC (wow by itself but still nice to have a book).
